Iam getting totally confused between sign blank and page. Which one do I use to show the size of the page on the screen. Which one displays where it will cut on the cardstock.

Also my mat is curling. There are furrows for want of a better word where the rollers are used on the mat causing air pockets when the cardstock is adhered to the mat which causes the cardstock to get ripped while in the process of cutting. These airpockets are not always apparent until the cutting has commenced.

What settings are used for the folllowing:
Grunge board- I have tried the max force but it only scratches the surface.
Balsa craft wood - as displayed in the KNK store videos
250 gsm paper - I am either not enough or too much?
Chipboard- after using 10 sheets of chipboard and not having one successful cut grrrrrrrrrrrr???
Textured cardstock

Is there a chart anywhere as a guide? It is an awful lot of waste of paper when things go wrong a guide chart to at least get one closer to the correct settings would be great??

When I try to cut a shape on my GrooveE the mat keeps wiggling and throws off the design cut. It is not so noticeable if I am trying to cut something fairly simple, like text, but flowers or butterflies, for example, turn into a mess. What am I doing wrong? Does there need to be more pressure on the pinch wheels? Help...it's getting a little frustrating. -Donna<input id="gwProxy" type="hidden"><!--Session data--><input onclick="jsCall();" id="jsProxy" type="hidden">

One more thing... I saw a video on how to prepare the Cricut mats for use (they are also insanely sticky) and they suggested just patting it over and over with your hands and allow the natural oils in your hands to disarm the adhesive a bit.

It sounds like your mat is too sticky if the materials are sticking to it! This happens with the mats for ALL of the cutters if you don't get the stickiness just right. The problem with getting it just perfect is that it will vary from one climate to the next (heat and temperature of the air). So, you need to follow the instructions in the user manual where I suggest you use an old T Shirt and press and pull up and repeat until the mat isn't quite so sticky. Then, when the mat loses its stickiness, you'll need to use less adhesive when cleaning and respraying.

Don't give up! Also, I use an artist's palette knife to gently lift the edges of my cut piece before removing from the mat to make sure I don't the cut pieces.

Chad told me that he had suggested you just hook it up straight serial on your other one because I specifically asked him about that! So, if you no go back to straight serial on your older computer, it's going to cut perfectly fine, right?

Then I'm guessing you have a faulty pink conversion cable for sure!

Interesting. It's doing nearly the same thing on the other one with the pink cable. Chad just had me hook it up as I had, straight serial port. Well to his defense, maybe he meant for me to use the pink cable but I didn't. I checked making sure the machine worked. It isn't even making the perfect square when I hit test on the other one. I didn't install any drivers, it found the port etc itself. I only had to change the port in the KnK software. Should I be trying something else?

edit: I took it off line and back on and now I can get a perfect square for the test; also noted that after the freeze if I try any type of circle, the test is a triangle oh and this one won't do the star either

Well I can also weld two squares and it will cut the outline. Add the circle, weld and it does the same thing - this time it dropped the head but wouldn't draw anything. It did allow me to go offline and then back online without freezing and needing to reset it. It's just so strange. Still waiting on seeing if you have any suggestions.

Is there any chance that the cable is defective? I've removed as many things with drivers that I can, even changed anti-virus programs and it is still not sending any data. I know it's a long shot, but is there some way I can check it?

Thanks,Jnett

Update it was supposed to make a circle and it drew
what looks like a check mark...I'm hoping that means it's not the
cable. Have to reset to make it continue.

Now I've done a square and a star, but it still won't cut the circle
or an abc string. This is what it did before. I really could use a
suggestion.

I have been trying to install POINT PUSHER from the CD that came with the KNK and it doesn't do anything. I have had a couple of problems with these programs I am supposed to be able to download off the CD.

I now have Windows 7 so is there a compatible version as I note the CD only recognises Vista and XP

I would love to see a sample pf what you are describing and you can simply provide me the name of the file. I currently have the unlimited Silhouette subscription, so I have access to all of them.

I live in Australia. The Retailer will help via phone as they are interstate. If I travel interstate I can have 2 hours free then I have to pay $60 per hour after that. After the cost of travelling plus the $60 ph I am paying for the KNK over and over again. I could not find a Retailer in NSW Australia.
